What is Selenium  
 
Selenium is a mineral that can be found in water, and some foods. We cannot produce selenium ourselves, and that means we have to rely on our diet, selenium supplements, or a combination. It plays a key role in metabolism and thyroid function and helps protect the body from oxidative stress. Many of its health benefits are brought about by proteins containing selenium, called selenoproteins.
